Arabica trees are more delicate and produce fewer beans per tree, but the beans they do produce are considered by the industry to be of a higher quality. Robusta trees are hardier and produce a higher yield where these beans are often used in coffee blends that can be just as good when prepared in the right conditions.

With that said, the best conditions for coffee production include moderate sunshine, steady temperatures around 70°F (20°C), and rich, porous soil between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn.
